Railway Plans to set up 7.5 MW solar plant in gujarat, Vadnagar to get Broad-Gauge




Western Railway (WR) announced that it will set up a 7.5MW-peak solar power plant in the state. “Even when the Rajdhani was introduced in India there were protests,” Go
yal said. WR also announced that the station at Vadnagar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home town, will be connected with a broad-gauge track by December 2018.A booklet by the Indian Railways, “Gearing Gujarat”, was released by Railway minister Piyush Goyal via video conference. The 33km stretch will likely see trains this December.Railway minister Goyal said the railways have not received a proposal to shift the headquarters of Western Railway to Gujarat. The booklet states that the railways plans to set up a 14MW-peak(MWp) solar power plant.
